For the wireframe stage, I focused on balancing detailed information with a clean layout to ensure that users could quickly navigate through their collections. It was also important for me to draft out the vision / future state of this experience while providing design for phase 1 and incremental changes. This approach allowed for a well-considered evolution of the user interface, providing immediate value while setting the foundation for the future. I used mid-fidelity wireframes to test the experience with users, and improve design based on their feedback.
Goal was to enhance the user experience and retention by enabling users to efficiently track and manage properties they’ve inquired about.

Emotional appeal
With the introduction of this new value proposition, we also aimed to encourage users to identify themselves, as many were browsing anonymously. Converting these users into identified ones was crucial for the business because it allowed us to personalize their experience more effectively and deliver tailored content. By understanding their preferences and behaviors, we could enhance user satisfaction and engagement. Additionally, identified users enabled us to better monetize our services through relevant advertisements and premium features, ultimately driving business growth. Our user research revealed that many users frequently discuss and share listings with their partners or family members during their decision-making process. This insight informed our efforts to introduce collaborative features, such as shared shortlists, where users can easily save, compare, and share their favorite properties with others. This not only supports users’ natural behavior but also creates additional opportunities to engage with the platform. In the short term, we focused on empowering users to take actions like giving feedback and reviewing agents. In the long term, we aimed to leverage this feedback to continuously improve the platform and introduce new features, such as collaborative shortlists.
Sr. Product Designer
My intention was to balance functional clarity with an emotional connection, enhancing the overall user experience. I wanted this design to promote a personalized and collaborative space, with visuals that suggest interaction and shared decision-making among users.
We implemented this feature in stages. As the first step, we measured the click-through rate (CTR) and conversion rate of the share feature before moving forward with the next phase, which involved building collaborative tools. This experiment was part of a series of smaller tests we conducted to gather more evidence before committing to larger, more resource-intensive solutions.
Future direction
Collections
In this design exploration, I experimented with various listing component layouts. I decided to go for the first option as it provides a good hierarchy of information, and doesn't feel cluttered and overwhelming.
